TikTok is brilliant at getting your video in front of strangers. It's much stingier about sending those strangers anywhere else.
The bio link is the one door out. Here's how to set it up, and what to do when TikTok won't show the option yet.
How to add the link
- 1
Open your profile
Tap Profile in the bottom right.
- 2
Tap Edit profile
It's under your name and follower count.
- 3
Look for Website
If you see it, tap it and paste your link.
- 4
Save
Go back to your profile and check the link appears under your bio.
"I don't see the Website field"
This happens a lot. TikTok has tied the clickable bio link to things like account type and follower count, and the rules have changed over time. Common fixes:
- Switch to a Business account in settings, then check again
- Keep posting; the option often appears as the account grows
- Update the app, then check Edit profile again
Until then, put your link in a pinned comment-style reply, in your Instagram bio, or say a short, easy-to-type handle out loud in your videos.
Why one page beats a single link
You get one link. Your viewers want different things: the product from video 12, your other socials, your booking page. A link page lets each person find their thing.
- Step 1Video gets views
- Step 2Viewer taps your profile
- Step 3Taps your bio link
- Step 4Finds the exact thing from the video
What to put on it for TikTok viewers
- The thing from your newest video at the very top. Most taps come right after a video does well.
- Your other platforms, so new fans can follow you elsewhere.
- A clear offer: shop, booking, newsletter or collab email.
- A short line about you, for people who just found you.
Tell people it's there
Say "link in bio" at the end of a video, add it as on-screen text, and pin a video that explains what's behind the link. Small nudges add up.
Questions people ask
Why can't I add a link to my TikTok bio?
TikTok limits the bio link by account type and size, and the rules change. Switching to a Business account and updating the app often helps.
Can I add more than one link to TikTok?
The bio holds one link, so most creators use a link in bio page to share several destinations.
What is the best link in bio for TikTok?
One that's fast on phones and easy to update. LinkPre is free to start and Pro is $1 a month.
Does the link work on the TikTok app?
Yes. Viewers tap it on your profile and it opens in TikTok's in-app browser.
